The 2019 ACM Awards bring out its first round of performers. George Strait, Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, Maren Morris, and host Reba McEntire all share their star power and are performing at the event. Brothers Osborne, Kane Brown, Little Big Town, Thomas Rhett, and Jason Aldean are also set to perform. However, there are no words yet as to what’s in store for the opening of the show.
The Academy of Country Music previously announced that Jason Aldean will receive the much coveted Dick Clark Artist of the Decade Award during the ceremony. This award has only been awarded to five other artists in the past.
What to expect at the 2019 ACM Awards
The Academy of Country Music Awards honors the country musicians that have impacted the genre and the industry as a whole in the previous year. Along with the awards show, ACMs weekend will consist of ACM Party for a Cause, which raises money for ACM Lifting Lives.
The Night’s Host
The ACM Awards will be hosted by Reba McEntire for the second time in a row. It will be the 16th time she will be hosting the show. She first co-hosted the ACM Awards way back in 1986.
McEntire has also been very outspoken about the lack of female nominees for the night’s most prestigious award, Entertainer of the Year. She has expressed that she was not happy about it, and it’s most likely she’s gonna share her thoughts about it when she has the chance to during the night rolls out.
Who’s Gonna Be There
Dan + Shay and Chris Stapleton lead the nominations with six each. And looking at their amazing track record, we might be expecting some big wins for them.
The nominees for the highest honor of the night, Entertainer of the Year, include no women. The list includes Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Chris Stapleton, and Keith Urban.
Country collaborator Bebe Rexha is most likely going to attend because she’s up for four ACM awards in 2019.
It will be aired live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 7 at 8 PM ET on CBS.
