2019 CMT Awards: Everything You Need to Know

The much-anticipated fan-voted awards show is almost upon us! The CMT Music Awards celebrates the best of the best music videos and television performances. Check out all you need to know about the event!

The 2019 CMT Awards

This year, the show is slated to air live from Bridgestone Arena on the 5th of June, Wednesday at 7 PM CT/ 8 PM ET on CMT and online at their official website. The hosts for the show are the awesome people forming Little Big Town.

Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Phillip Sweet, and Jimi Westbrook are back to serve as the night’s emcees for the second year in the row. The group is also slated to perform their song “Summer Fever,” which is also nominated for group video of the year.

The performances for the awards show are going to be full of star power, as this year’s show will feature the longest lineup in CMT Awards history. Among the superstars who will perform are Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Thomas Rhett, Kane Brown, and Dan + Shay, among others.

Collaborations are also alive and well on the state. Maren Morris will share the stage alongside Sheryl Crow. Brandi Carlile will, for the first time ever on television, will be performing with Tanya Tucker. Toby Keith will also share the stage with Cole Swindell to perform one of his iconic hits.

Several country artists have been nominated for the list, including Underwood, one of the most decorated CMT winner of all-time.

It is a delight to mention that along with the outstanding country icons that are slated to set the stage ablaze, other crossover artists are also going to grace the stage of the Bridgestone Arena. Shawn Mendes, Meghan Trainor, Gladys Knight, Boyz II Men, and Leon Bridges are also among the nominees.

Boyz II Men were pleasantly surprised with the award and tweeted their reaction. All of them are up for the performance of the year award for their amazing genre-bending collaborations with country artists.
