The Christian gospel music, “One Day at a Time,” has always provided us some comfort. It allows us to relax and feel the presence of a higher power. The best part is that it transcends the boundaries of age and generations.

If you need an example for that, take a look at this truly blessed family performing together with their 93-year-old mother, Nita Talley, as the main star. With her angelic voice, a guitar on her son’s hand, and another female company, you will instantly feel the power and emotion that is poured into this heartwarming performance.

“One Day at a Time” was written by Marijohn Wilkin and Kris Kristofferson and has since been recorded by more than 200 artists – peaking at No.1 in several territories. It was originally recorded by Marilyn Sellars in 1974. But for most country fans, Cristy Lane’s version was the most popular one, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles in 1980.

Nita Talley and her family’s version was recorded in August 2019 at Talley’s apartment in Memphis. Ever since it was uploaded, the video has been viewed more than seven million times and has over 10,000 shares.

“My Mother, Nita Talley, is overwhelmed at the response to this video,” says her son, Gary Talley. “She always wanted to be a missionary, and now she is one. And she wants to thank everyone for the cards she’s been receiving.”

Gary has also revealed that they had recorded several songs in 2019. However, due to the pandemic that’s going on worldwide, the older woman is in strict quarantine and has had no visitors at all since March. “We can’t do any more until Mom gets out of quarantine,” Gary added.

Here’s to hoping we get to hear more from this beautiful family. But in the meantime, you can watch their rendition of “One Day at a Time” in the video below. It is indeed very enriching, not only to your ears but as well as to your heart, mind, and soul.
