Dolly Parton and Vince Gill’s “I Will Always Love You” undeniably belongs to the catalog of the best country music duets. It still sounds like the classic country that we are all familiar with but with a new and refreshing twang to it. And if you haven’t listened to this yet, you’re definitely missing out.

RELATED: Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You,” A Country Song That’s Hard To Top

“I Will Always Love You” has always been, to many, Whitney Houston’s. Her high note belting of the words became a trademark tune, and you’d hear it a lot at singing competitions and even in karaokes. But it’s actually one of Dolly Parton songs! Dolly wrote this to her duet partner and mentor, American country singer Porter Wagoner when she decided to leave his TV show and start a new page for her career.

The song hit number one on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart when it was released in 1974. Dolly also performed it live several times – and they are always amazing because hey, it’s the Dolly Parton – but her duets with Vince Gill hit differently. It’s on a superior level of incredible, and it will keep you craving for more of them.

Vince always starts the song, and with just the first part, he would enchant live audiences. His voice is so soft to the ears, carefully caressing them. But what makes his singing so good is his sweet tenor and smooth falsetto that could bring you to an eargasm. Then Dolly would come in with the second part, her unique register flowing through, making the audience feel every bit of emotion in the song. And what she ‘lacks’ on high-belting notes, she completely makes up for good control of her runs. With Vince blending in, the song sounds effortless and faultless.

Dolly’s solo version is already a treat, but the duet with Vince brings a new desired flavor to the song. They harmonize so well that Vince’s soft falsetto and tenor is like sugar to Dolly’s unique voice of crystal clear water.
