Today, Garth Brooks celebrates his 58th birthday!

He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on 7 February 1962. Garth is Brooks’ middle name. Troyal is his first name, which happens to be the name of his father as well.

While he’s now known for his hits like “Friends in Low Places,” “More Than a Memory” and “What She’s Doing Now,” Brooks began singing music in college bars first.

He moved to Nashville after graduating with a degree in advertising from Oklahoma State University. In 1989, his first album on the Billboard country charts reached No. 2.

In 1990 Garth Brooks became Grand Ole Opry member. He’s sold over 70 million albums in the U.S. Additionally; he’s the only artist in history to win seven CMA Entertainer of the Year awards. His latest win was in 2019.

On Instagram, Brooks ‘ wife, country singer Trisha Yearwood, shared a special tribute to him. “Happy birthday to my best friend, love of my life @garthbrooks,” she wrote.

“You make 58 look gooooood,” she said. “I love you!”

Brooks had a surprise a little early before his big day: he performed for the seventh leg of his Dive Bar Tour Wednesday at a packed house at the Six String in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Garth took to Facebook live after the show for a new episode of his series Inside Studio G, still reveling in the stage’s energy.

“Humans! We just moved on and it was amazing to frickin,” he gushed. “It’s just a great way to begin the year. I am telling you right now, if it’s all like that in 2020, I’m fine.”

More than 900 fans attended the Foxborough tour stop; the only way to get into the show was to win tickets through local country radio stations.

The show was initially scheduled for December 2019 — Brooks played a Dive Bar Tour stop in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey that same night, but was rescheduled due to bad weather.

“It has been a late month. I never get to a gig that late!”Garth joked live on Facebook.

Although it was originally intended that the seventh stop on the Dive Bar Tour would be the last one, Brooks extended the tour to the end of last year by saying that he loves to play in the small venues too much to quit.

In the meantime, he’s on a stadium tour simultaneously.
