We cannot be happier as country music dominates this year’s Grammy Award. Kacey Musgraves won on all four categories she was nominated in. She took home the Album of the Year (Golden Hour), Best Country Solo Performance (“Butterflies”), Best Country Song (“Space Cowboy”), and Best Country Album.

Top Five Songs

In celebration of Musgraves success, we give you five of her best songs. The songs listed here are not arranged in order.

“High Horse”

Musgraves released “High Horse” as a single from her Grammy-winning album Golden Hour. Her song reached number thirty-six on the Billboard Country chart, and number thirty-nine on the Adult Top 40 chart.

This disco vibe single is all about a person who thinks highly of themselves. High Horse stands for a person who is arrogant, and steps on people, thinking they are better than others.

‘Cause everyone knows someone who kills the buzz

Every time they open up their mouth

Yeah, everyone knows someone who knows someone

Who thinks they’re cooler than everybody else

“Space Cowboy”

Musgraves delivers a heartbreaking song with her single “Space Cowboy.” She shared the inspiration of the song in her Instagram account.

“One day I was out at the barn watching this stallion charging powerfully from one end of the arena to the other, bucking and galloping at full speed all alone. Though I was ‘safe’ on the other side of the arena wall, it kinda scared me when he came flying toward me… barely stopping in time. My riding teacher saw him coming at me and yelled at me to move away. I said ‘I’m fine! The gate is closed!’ to which she said, ‘Girl – when they wanna go they will go… there ain’t no point in even shuttin’ the gate.’ It really made a mark on me when she said that and I wrote it down.”

“Space Cowboy” reached number thirty on the country chart.

“Biscuit”

This single reminds us to mind our own business instead of bothering other people’s life. Musgraves wrote the song with Shane McAnally and Brandy Clark. The track came from her album Pageant Material.

“Biscuit” reached number twenty-eight on the Country chart. In addition, it has also secured a spot on the County Airplay chart.

“Follow Your Arrow”

You’ll find yourself falling in love and definitely agreeing to Kacey Musgraves single “Follow Your Arrow.” Her song encourages people to be who they truly want to be and not mind what other people will think or say because at the end of the day you’ll be judged.

“Follow Your Arrow” is included as one of Rolling Stone’s Greatest Country Songs of All Time. In addition, this was Musgraves highest charting song in her career.

“Butterflies”

The song that made Musgraves won Grammy Award for Best Country Solo Performance this 2019 was “Butterflies.” She said that it was written in 2016 when she first met her now-husband Ruston Kelly. However, the song was released in 2018 as part of her Golden Hour album.

“Butterflies” explores the feeling of being in love with someone who brings out the best in you, instead of making you feel worst about yourself.

Now you’re lifting me up instead of holding me down

Stealing my heart instead of stealing my crown

Congratulations to Kacey Musgraves for being one of the biggest winners of this year’s Grammy Award.
