Stevens will be inducted into the Veterans Era Artist Category joining other country music artists. The Hall of Fame is now composed of 139 music legends from across all generations.

Ray Stevens’ Journey

Stevens’ journey also had his fair share of ups and downs. He started very early in his career at the age of 18 by joining Capitol Records’ Prep Records division and producing his first singles “Silver Bracelet” and a cover of “Rang Tang Ding Dong.” He continued to be an amazing all-around artist by becoming a producer, songwriter and does song arrangement.

He is a Winner

He then won his first Grammys with his gospel-inflected single “Everything Is Beautiful” for Best Contemporary Male Vocalist back in 1970. After six years, he won his second Grammy award for his song “Misty.” But this time, for the category of Best Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s) indicating that he can win at any category. This boosted his status and started getting inducted into Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame,  Georgia Music Hall of Fame, Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame, and Christian Music Hall of Fame.

One of the Legends

Being inducted as a Hall of Famer in the Country Music Hall of Fame is definitely what all country musicians aspire for. For Ray Stevens, it is something that he needs to adjust to because he was pleasantly surprised to be a part of the legendary group of country musicians.

For us fans, this is long overdue. He is a genius for what he does and continues to prove that even at age 60, you can still be a part of the technological era by joining the popular social media platforms. Yes, people, he does have Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, and Instagram account. So, be sure to follow him and congratulate him for being a part of the Country Music Hall of Fame.
