In 2007, Canadian country singer George Canyon released his cover of one of the classic hits of all time, “Kiss an Angel Good Morning,” as part of his album Classics.

The song was initially released in 1971 by Charley Pride as part of his album Charley Pride Sings Heart Songs.

Since its release, the song has become a staple hit not just for listeners but also for country singers. Because of that, when George Canyon announced that he would be releasing a rendition of the song, fans couldn’t wait to tune in.

Although his version didn’t achieve any musical chart success, it was still relatively one of his best works considering his album was able to sell over 40,000 copies worldwide, making it a gold-certified by Music Canada.

George Canyon’s Amazing Rendition

Written by Ben Peters, the original version of the song reached the No. 1 spot on both US Hot Country Songs (Billboard) and Canadian RPM Country Tracks.

So when Canyon announced his plans to release a cover of the song, listeners had high expectations—and it seems like he didn’t let anyone down.

Compared to other covers, George Canyon’s version almost sounded the same as the original. His raspy country voice and singing technique are quite identical to Charley Pride’s style.

But the way Canyon delivers the message of the song gives off this powerful aura that fans couldn’t resist. Despite him being one of the rising country artists, Canyon undoubtedly sounds like a “legend.”

So, if you haven’t checked out George Canyon’s amazing cover of “Kiss an Angel Good Morning” yet, don’t miss out on the fun. Watch his powerful performance below.
