Country music artists Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves, Brooks & Dunn, Martina McBride, and more are among the recipients for the 2019 ACM Honors.

The Academy of Country Music announced the complete the list of honorees this year on Tuesday, the 28th of May. Each year, the event, – which will take place in late August at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium – pays tribute to the ACM’s special honorees and off-camera winners.
Country duo Brooks & Dunn is the most-awarded duo and second most awarded act ever in ACM history. Martina McBride is also a huge powerhouse in the genre. She has charted more than 50 songs on the Billboard Country Airplay chart throughout her career. She won the ACM Female Vocalist of the Year honor three times in a row and also received the ACM Humanitarian Award in 2003.
These artists are the recipients of the prestigious Cliffie Stone Icon Award. This aims to recognize country acts that have promulgated the influence and popularity of the genre through “their contributions in multiple facets of the industry.”
These efforts include songwriting, recording, production and touring, as well as in philanthropic contributions and other goodwill efforts. Past recipients include Alabama, Garth Brooks, Merle Haggard, and Emmylou Harris.
Miranda Lambert is the most-awarded artist in ACM history and is the first ACM Merle Haggard Spirit Award recipient. In light of this, she is the recipient of the Gene Weed Milestone Award – an award which recognizes outstanding achievements in country music during the preceding calendar year.
Fellow Texas native and breakout country star Kacey Musgraves is also slated to receive the Jim Reeves International Award. This recognizes her efforts to spread country music across the globe. Musgraves has been embarking on her tour in support of her Grammy-winning album Golden Hour. She has been playing in numerous countries including, Norway, Japan, and Denmark, among others.
Other artists who will be recognized include songwriters Rodney Crowell, Kye Fleming, and Billy Joe Shaver, as well as the smash-hit movie “A Star is Born.”
The 2019 ACM Honors ceremony is scheduled in Aug. 21, at the Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. Presenters and ticket information for this year’s event will be revealed in the coming weeks.
