Dolly Parton has a huge gay fan base, and she is well loved by the community. In fact, Dolly also sees herself as a drag queen had she not been born a woman. In an ABC interview, she was asked what she feels about Drag Queens and she replied:

“Yes, it is true. Because I’m so over-exaggerated and I have so many fans in the gay community and the drag queens.”

With the release of her movie Dumplin’, Netflix decided to hire drag queens to do a lip-sync performance of the song, which was also featured in the movie.

Drag Queens Perform “Jolene”

The performance was posted in Netflix’s official YouTube account. In the performance, it featured 6 drag queens namely Manila Luzon, Katya, Bendela Creme, Bebe Zahara Bonet, Ginger Minj, and Alaska Thunderfuck. They are all RuPaul’s drag race alumni, and they have successful careers of their own.

The performance started with each of the queens shown one by one. They all have their own lip-syncing styles as seen in the performance. The emotions of the song were brought out by these queens with just the movement of their mouth. They also showcased their dancing abilities, with one queen even doing a split.

All in all, the performance was hilarious, but still sticking to the essence of the song.
