The world is in mourning right now as we discovered the death of Europe’s oldest person. Her name is Giuseppina Robucci and she was born on March 20, 1903. She died peacefully in her hometown at Poggio Imperiale, Italy.
Apparently, she shared to everyone who asked her the secret to a long lasting life. She stated that her faith in God really made her stronger each day. Then, of course, other factors come in like her total avoidance of alcohol and eating healthy.
Maria Giuseppa Robucci, Europe’s Oldest Woman
She was Europe’s oldest person, but she could have also been the World’s Oldest. In fact, the world oldest person is only two months younger than her. The record for the world’s oldest living person is held by Japanese citizen named Kane Tanaka.
Maria’s husband died before her so she had to take care of her family on her own. She has five children plus nine grandchildren. Even if her husband was a bar owner, Maria was able to avoid alcohol or even a casual drink. One of her achievements in life was being appointed as an honorary mayor of Poggio Imperiale back in 2012.
The Secret to Long Life
Maria Robucci is Europe’s oldest person for a reason. One of those reasons is her faith in God. In a Times Magazine article, they discussed the possibility of having a longer life due to your belief and faith. One author in the study said:
“Having that sense that you’re not in the world alone, that you are part of a power larger than oneself, can give one confidence to deal with the issues of life,”
In the study, they even tackled the effects of praying. It states that praying triggers a relaxed response, and we all know that relaxation can have a direct effect on one’s health. The less stressed we are, the lesser chance that we develop health issues such as high blood pressure or diabetes.
So there you have it, folks. Our strong faith in God is the key to finding our inner peace. This, in turn, will lessen our stress and have a more positive outlook in life.
