Sometimes, love is all about the bold gestures we have to do just to catch someone’s attention. And Dan + Shay tried to replicate this cliché to impress their women in the seductive 2018 track, “All to Myself.”

Released as the third single from their self-titled album, the song reached the top of the Billboard Country Airplay. It also peaked at No. 3 in the Billboard Hot Country Songs.

A Song Hoping For The Fire To Heat Up The Relationship Even More

Written by duo members Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney with Jordan Reynolds and Nicolle Galyon, “All to Myself” tells of a man’s desire to have his lover all to himself.

“I want you all to myself. We don’t need anyone else. Let our bodies do the talking. Let our shadows paint the wall. I want you here in my arms. We’ll hide away in the dark. Slip your hand in my back pocket. Go and let your long hair fall. I want you all to myself, to myself,” the song goes.

Taste of Country’s Billy Dukes thought of the song’s composition in which it “snaps and a thin guitar lick introduces Shay Mooney’s vocals before a more robust and organic arrangement powers the song, starting at the chorus.”

Mooney even took the track further to the next level when he reached the highest falsetto notes anyone has ever heard as the song neared its end in the final chorus. At the same time, he kept that same lust alive. Indeed, Mooney absolutely knows where to drive it home.

“All to Myself” marks the second song in Dan + Shay’s music endeavor, in which the country duo already sent out “Tequila” first to show off the direction they are headed in.

But did you know a year before the song was released, the two spent 2017 going through some exciting personal milestones? Smyers married his fiancee, Abby Law. A few months later, Mooney also married his fiancee, Hannah Billingsley. Mooney and Billingsley also became first-time parents that same year.

“That definitely goes into your music,” Mooney said. Still, both he and Smyers said they are still pulling inspiration from past experiences – before their marriage – as well as from what their co-writers are going through.
