“Help Me Make It Through The Night,” A Controversial Piece
Kristofferson wrote and recorded the song in 1970. Various covers of the song were also released by artists like Sammi Smith and Hank Crawford. Almost all the re-records and cover releases were a hit which made the song among the most successful country singles of all time in terms of popularity, sales, and radio airplay.
The song became controversial because it speaks of a man’s desire for intimate relations. In 1971, the song was covered by Sammi Smith which became the talk in the country music industry since the lyrics go:

Kris Kristofferson And Lady Antebellum Performance
Kristofferson is known as a country songwriter and artist. He is the man behind the different country hit songs like “Me and Bobby McGee,” “For the Good Times,” and “Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down.” He is also one of the outlaw country music promulgators who opposes the Nashville-like performance of Country music artists.
Lady Antebellum, on the other hand, is a group that was established in 2006. The group won the hearts of the fans with their songs “Just a Kiss,” “Never Alone,” and “Need You Now.” Their lead vocalist has the solemn voice that is perfect for songs of hurt and pain.
In their performance of “Help Me Make It Through The Night,” the views on YouTube has been over 15 million views. The favorable response of the viewers had numerous requests for another performance from the two.
