Even though LeAnn Rimes has transformed herself into a pop star, she is still as great as she was from the beginning of her career. Since we haven’t heard many country songs from her recently, why not take a look at some of her past recordings? She furthered her career with the rendition of “Blue,” but Rimes recorded other country classics that will blow your mind.
LeAnn Rimes Nailed “Cowboy’s Sweetheart”
One song, in particular, that really made us praise her is her version of Patsy Montana‘s “Cowboy’s Sweetheart.” Despite the fact that the song did not get the attention it deserved, Rimes surely proves that she can be a superstar at a very young age.
Check out her cover of the song here:
How can you not notice her talent? Rimes definitely proved to be one of the greatest country singers during her time, and the girl can yodel which is quite difficult when done. What do you think of Rimes’ cover?
Patsy Montana made it Popular
“Cowboy’s Sweetheart” is a classic country song first recorded by Montana in 1935. Montana wrote the song and breathed life to it with her unique vocals; giving us the true sound of what western music truly is. After Montana, the song has been recorded many times from Patti Page to Rimes.
All That to Unchained Melody: The Early Years
Rimes covered the song for her independent album All That in 1994, where she included songs such as “Blue,” “I Will Always Love You,” and more. Sadly, even though Rimes did her best; it wasn’t a commercial success. The time that her album was noticed was when it was picked up by another record label. The album’s name was changed to Blue and some of the songs were taken out of the album including Rimes’ cover of “Cowboy’s Sweetheart.” Her version was only included in her first compilation album known as Unchained Melody: The Early Years.
We are all definitely missing some country songs from LeAnn.
