Is Faith Hill still married to Tim McGraw or are they headed to divorce?
The March 16 issue of InTouch Weekly claims that the country power couple is experiencing a bumpy ride in recent months as the two are becoming increasingly distant. The report highlighted the part where Tim has missed their 23rd anniversary as he was touring in Australia while his future plans to begin a solo tour in the summer sounds like he’s about to miss even more time with his wife.
There have been reports of this week’s issue of Globe too, saying that couple is now living separate lives right after Tim has left his deal with Sony Music Nashville which the coupled signed in early 2017 and released an album of duets called The Rest of Our Life that November. Tim has returned to Big Machine Records.
This now leaves Faith alone with Sony Music Nashville and according to the tabloid’s source close to the couple, it is “going to make it very hard for Faith to launch her comeback as a solo artist” because she had “put her career on the back burner” while raising their three daughters.
The source also revealed that Faith wanted to join Tim as his “support act” for his upcoming solo tour, Here on Earth. However, Tim has allegedly refused because “he wants his career to be his own” and “doesn’t want to play concerts and have the audience yell out, ‘Where’s Faith?’”
Insiders believe this mayhem has a high likelihood to lead to a bitter divorce and it’s absolutely going to be a hefty one. These sources even added that Hill “wanted to keep tabs” on her husband so he wouldn’t “plunge back into his partying past.”
In Touch Weekly’s report had detailed some allegedly unresolved wounds from Tim’s hard-partying past. “Faith has major trust issues, and it’s understandable,” the source said. “For years, Tim was drinking and partying on the road and would forget about his wife and kids back home. Faith held the family together in his absence, but there were many tough years. It almost broke them many times.”
If we could remember, Tim revealed in his release of In Grit & Grace: Train the Mind, Train the Body, Own Your Life, that more than 10 years ago his wife, Faith Hill, told him that he had to decide between his rock star lifestyle or his family and this ultimatum shook Tim to his core.
“When things happen and you succeed beyond your wildest dreams and you’re playing all these great shows and the parties are going on,” McGraw, 52, told Hoda Kotb on the TODAY show. “Then you’re married and you have kids. And all of a sudden your wife looks at you and says, ‘You know, you’re getting a little overboard and you need to make some decisions.’ It makes a big impact on you.”
So Did Tim McGraw Walk Out On Faith Hill? Rumors Debunked!
Well, to the fans of this country power couple, you may relax a little now as there is absolutely no truth about this story. Though McGraw has not totally explained his reasons for parting ways with Sony Music Nashville, a spokesperson for the country music star has denied that the decision has put Tim and Faith on the brink of divorce.
Just two days before the news broke that Tim has left Sony Music Nashville, he posted a throwback picture on Instagram of himself and Hill at the 2015 Oscars and captioned it with “#Oscars flashback with my baby”.
This isn’t the first time divorce rumors have made the rounds, concerning Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. In November 2019, their marriage was said to have exploded due to the same reasons being said today. One magazine, Globe, claims that the couple is dealing with a “$167 million divorce nightmare”.
The said magazine claimed that a “friend” of the couple said that: “Tim and Faith have been on the brink of splitting up several times, but they’ve always managed to pull it together for the sake of their family.”
“With no kids as a marriage glue,” the tabloid claims, the two “have been locking horns on their future.” Tim and Faith’s youngest daughter about to turn 18 and will soon be moving out, leaving the couple empty nesters and the supposed “friend” “fear the glue that’s held them together is gone.
And should things will lead to divorce, the tabloid said that it’s going to be messy. “Faith is incredibly strong-willed, and she doesn’t play the victim card,” the source continues. “If she sees a point of no return in their marriage, she’s going to go for what’s hers.”
“In many ways, she sacrificed her own career when it was at its peak to be a mother and hold the family together during Tim’s darkest days,” the malicious content concludes. “Tim’s made a lot more money than Faith during their marriage, but Faith fully believes she’s an equal partner in those earnings and that success.”
Faith Hill has defended her relationship, “[Rumors] seem to be running like crazy right now for some reason. It’s perplexing,” she said in an interview after performing with her husband in Las Vegas last November 2019. “I don’t know why ‘happy’ can’t be a story.” Insisting that they are totally not splitting up.
The singer-actor Tim McGraw, on the other hand, no longer pays attention to what the tabloids have to say about his marriage. “We’ve been married 17 years, and since the first week we were married those things were out,” he told People. “We don’t even think about it. The only time we ever think about it is [when we] worry about the kids. But they’ve been around it, too, so they laugh it off.”
Tim McGraw and Faith Hill Epic Love Story
Their story started when they first met at a country music seminar in Nashville in 1994. Faith Hill was just fresh off of a recent divorce and is unlikely looking for another commitment and Tim had a solid relationship. But loves absolutely knows how to find its way that when they reconnected in 1996, sparks flew.
Though Faith was then engaged to a record producer at the time, she broke things off with her fiancé as her chemistry with Tim is too good to pass up. “If someone is going to judge my character because I was engaged to somebody and then I left him for somebody else — ‘Oh, okay, now she’s a slut and a bad person’ — I can’t control that. But I wasn’t about to let Tim slip through my hands,” she told People.
The power couple really knew they were meant to be together, so they did not wait long to tie the knot. Just a few months into their relationship, Tim proposed to Faith.
We were in the dressing room, here, June 26, 1996, and it was raining and stuff and we’d been on tour for a while together, and I joked around with her about getting married. And so I said… I looked at her, grabbed her by the hand, and dropped forward [on my knees] onstage. She had already done her show.
And I said, ‘I’m really serious. I want you to marry me.'” The songstress laughed in response. “She said, ‘We’re at a country music festival in a trailer house, and you’re asking me to marry you? And I said, ‘Yeah.’ So I went on stage,” Tim shared with his audience during his 2015 show in Colorado.
“I had in my dressing room… this foldout case that had a mirror in it that was my dressing armoire,” McGraw said. “I still have it to this day. When I came back offstage, [I saw] a Sharpie with lipstick kisses all over it, saying, ‘Yes! I’m gonna be your wife.’ It had, ‘I love you’ with big lipstick kisses. And this is the place right here.”
But these two don’t stop here from being more adorable as the duo actually pulled off a surprise wedding in the same year. They have invited friends telling them that it would just be a softball game and a the same time a concert in Tim’s hometown of Rayville, Louisana. But much to the guests’ surprise, the two were standing under an oak tree with a minister, ready to seal the deal.
Now they are the proud parents to three daughters: Gracie McGraw, 22, Maggie McGraw, 21, and Audrey Caroline McGraw, 17, all of whom Tim says are all turning out to be wonderful young women.
“We’re so proud of our daughters because the word they grew up in, it can easily make the kids turn out differently,” the country superstar said. “And our girls are so grounded, they are so humble. They have such big hearts, and they work hard at the things they want to accomplish – and we’re really proud of them. We couldn’t ask for better kids. They’re smarter than us in so many ways. ”
With this epic love story and three fascinating daughters, don’t you think it’s a little crazy to think that the long-standing couple is shaking on the edge of divorce? Tim has been touring solo a lot of times without Faith, this only shows that she does not have any issue with it. Plus, the country superstar can’t stop gushing about his wife in interviews ever since they got married and he has never gone shy about sharing his love for Faith.
Tim shared in one of his past interviews with People, “Faith saved my life in a lot of ways – from myself more than anything,” he said. “I can go down a dark road sometimes when you’re not feeling good about yourself, and she pulls me out. My wife makes me a better man.”
Faith has the same sentiment too, “My husband and I have made the choice that our marriage is the most important thing to us. We respect what we have and understand how we need to feed it.”
And if you will take a look at the lyrics of their 2017 hit, “The Rest of Our Life”, then I’m sure you will agree with me that these two are just #marriagegoals. The lyrics go like this: Sitting with you in a dark room, warmed by a fireplace/ You know there’s just something about you. You brighten my day/ I got something to run past you, I just hope I say it right/ So I take your hand and ask you/ Have you made plans for the rest of your life?
During Faith’s birthday last year, Tim has posted a photo of Faith on his Instagram account. He captioned it, “Our center… She is my wife, she is the mother of my girls, she is my best friend, my lover, my tether in the storms, I love her.”
The two also celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary last year and shared several sweet messages to each other. “Happy anniversary baby!” Tim has captioned a photo on his Instagram where the couple can be seen hand-in-hand while walking in a red carpet together. “23 years and I can’t wait for the next 50!!! I love u.”
During Tim’s guesting on The Kelly Clarkson Show, he also revealed the gift he gave to Faith when they celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary. “I was in Australia, I think, this was the first anniversary we were apart,” he shared with the host. “We were backstage and I recorded the very first song we ever did together. We used to do the Tony Rich song ’Nobody Knows It But Me.’ So I recorded it backstage with the guys and sent it to her.“
This just goes to show that the couple’s marriage remains to be as solid as ever. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are just as happy as ever. To those who make and believe Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s divorce rumors, Faith has something for you: “I wish people would stop buying that stuff, and I wish they’d just stop printing that stuff,” she said as she expressed her frustration.
