Today at 11 a.m, Country music legend Charlie Daniels’ funeral service was held at the World Outreach Church. Fellow country stars, Travis Tritt, Vince Gill, Gretchen Wilson, and Trace Adkins were there to pay tribute to the legend.

The renowned singer passed away Monday morning at age 83 after suffering a grim stroke. Daniels first suffered a mild stroke in 2010 which caused a pacemaker implant in him in 2014.

Due to the restrictions and health standards that the Covid-19 pandemic has brought, attendees for the event were limited and were asked to wear masks during the funeral service. The service was also streamed via the World Outreach Church’s Facebook page and YouTube channel. The funeral service was then followed by a private burial at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee.

Throughout his career, Daniels has been known for the hit songs that he has produced over the years. “The Devil Went to Georgia” is just one of Daniels’ hit which ruled the radio waves during the early ‘70s. The country star and southern country legend was also known for the numerous tours he did with his 5-piece band.

Now that Charlie Daniels has passed away, playing his songs would always remind us of what a great artist he has been. But more than just the accolades that he has gained for his wonderful contribution to the industry, Daniels’s legacy would always be his willingness to contribute to different projects that were to his heart. One of which, was his loyal support for the army. Daniels also founded “The Journey Home Project” in 2014 which aimed to help veterans of the United States Armed Forces.

Alongside his publicly known support for the armed forces, Daniels was also not shy in talking about his faith during interviews and to his fans. Daniels publicly pronounced that if there was one place that he would not want to go to, it would be where Jesus won’t or can’t go. He added that in whatever he does, he always wanted to be where God’s blessing is.

As the word spread about the passing of Country music legend Charlie Daniels, several country stars shared some of their greatest Charlie Daniels memory.

Travis Tritt posted a picture of him and his long-time friend Daniels. Tritt’s tribute was full of love and gratitude as he thanked one of the first few country stars that helped him during the early days of his careers.

Randy Travis also posted in his socials expressing his farewell to a good friend. Travis reminisced all the times that he and Daniels spent laughing, crying and praying together.

In support of “The Journey Home Project” that Daniels has co-established, instead of sending flowers, everyone is encouraged to send memorial contributions to the foundation Daniels co-founded.
