We’re all familiar with the saying “hard work makes dream work.” But just as that phrase serves as a rallying cry to athletes, singers also hold pride in their musical superiority. One that they’re all eager to conquer is the Billboard Charts.

This year, Luke Combs claims the throne for himself as he outshines Taylor Swift’s self-titled album in 2006 which spent 24 weeks at #1 including her follow up album which also reigned at #1 for 35 weeks titled, Fearless.

“This One’s for You” and “What You See is What You Get” engrave Luke Combs’s name in history.

The New King of Charts

Someone replacing the queen of the charts is nothing to fret about when it’s none other than one of our most anticipated country artists, Luke Combs!

He’s been active in the music industry since 2014, but his entire childhood was also dedicated to music. Combs became a vocalist in his school and has been joining multiple groups affiliated to music. One of his unmarked achievements was his solo performance in the world-renowned Carnegie Hall. He later went to Nashville in Tennessee to pursue his musical career further.

Luke Combs debuted in 2017 with his album “This One’s for You,” and to his surprise, it held up to Billboard’s Top Country Albums #1 spot for 50 weeks. The solos included in his album were: “Hurricane”, “When It Rains It Pours”, “One Number Away”, “She Got the Best of Me”, “Beautiful Crazy”, “Beer Never Broke My Heart”, “Even Though I’m Leaving”, and “Does to Me”.

Combs’ 2019 album “What You See is What You Get” also made history through the series of weeks it spent on top of the Country Charts.

The King’s Predecessors

In different music categories, Luke Combs was able to beat Taylor Swift not only because of the length of duration that he owned the #1 spot but also because of his first two consecutive albums which managed to reach Billboard’s No. 1. His debut album “This One’s for You” held it for 50 weeks while his 2019-2020 album beat Taylor’s 24-streak with his 25.

He also beat Shaina Twain’s longest-reigning 50-week streak in Billboard’s Country Charts in 1997 with his “This One’s for You” album. This feat makes him the artist to now don the crown for country music.

But that’s not all! In August 2019, Luke Combs also managed to beat the record set by Randy Travis when it comes to the longest-running country music album by a male artist.
