Dolly Parton, as the present queen of country music, doesn’t know how to stop yet. And what’s great about her is her peppy spirit of completing her bucket list despite passing her prime, unlike the majority who would rather choose to lie low and rest. So don’t go looking for an heir yet because she’s about to take another crown in the music industry with her recent gospel song ‘There was Jesus’ which recently hit #1 on Billboard’s Christian Charts.
Filling Up Her Bucket List
In the past years, Parton’s been releasing this Country-style Christmas music to bring a strike of golly into people’s hearts. This time, it’s not about Christmas, only its essence. She temporarily left country-styled music just to make a collaboration song with Christian artist Zach Williams, and the result was magnificent!
‘There was Jesus’ is a completely new thing for Parton and it was extra special for her as she explains that topping any other music chart is great, but to top in a faith-based chart such as Billboard Christian, especially when the world is going crazy during the pandemic, is unparalleled to any other honor.
Parton further stated that the song humbled and blessed her heart just by being a part of it. But what really makes her thankful the most is when ‘There was Jesus’ touched the lives of people.
A Woman with Many Hats
When Dolly Parton said that topping any other chart is great, she wasn’t exaggerating. As of this week, ‘There was Jesus’ topped both the Christian Airplay and the Christian AC charts. This only adds to her 25 #1’s in the Country Airplay chart, two #1’s in the Adult Contemporary chart, and two chart-toppers in the All-Genre Hot 100.
If you think that number is enough, well in 2019, Parton also got her first #1 on the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart with ‘Faith’ as her entry and collaboration with Galantis and Mr. Probz.
She exclaimed that even she is speechless for the numerous number ones she’s got on different types of music. Parton didn’t forget to thank all her fans and all those who collaborated with her into making her achievements possible. Indeed, she’s the queen of country music, but she’s not only a queen though, but she is also a jill-of-all-trades.
Going back to country talks, Dolly Parton is about to release her Christmas album, A Holly Dolly Christmas on Oct. 2. While on it, listen to her roster of music starting with ‘There was Jesus’.
