Nothing beats the holidays like spending Christmas with your relatives and family especially when it comes to your godparents giving you allowances or spoiling you with treats. We’ve all been in there, but have you ever heard of a godmother and goddaughter duo that is sure to spice up the joys of the season? Here’s news for you, Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus pairs up for an upcoming Christmas project titled ‘Christmas Is’.
The True Value of Christmas
Although Dolly Parton has been rocking the house and spreading the joy through her album ‘Holly Dolly Christmas’ recently released on October 2, this seasonal-star does not have the word ‘rest’ in her vocabulary.
Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus‘s duet is rather lighthearted at its beginning. The story flows steadily between them exchanging lines on how special Christmas could be or what it means to them. Eventually, in the next parts of the song, the single slowly turns into a harmonic reminder that not everyone has been equally blessed in terms of celebrating the season.
Then in the even latter part, the song simply explained that what we really need aren’t material things, but rather, the gifts of the heart expressed through “kindness, love and compassion”, thus, reminding everyone that the reason for the season is the birth of the Savior Jesus Christ.
One Big Family
All throughout the years, Dolly has shown to be the type of person who likes mixing up work with family by doing collaborations with them. In her latest album, some songs such as ‘Christmas Where We Are’ was sung with Miley’s father, Billy Ray Cyrus, while ‘You Are My Christmas’ was with her brother Randy. She also collaborated with good friends such as in ‘Cuddle Up, Cozy Down Christmas’ performed with Michael Bublé, and with one of her good friends, Willie Nelson in creating a new rendition of his classic ‘Pretty Paper’.
‘Holly Dolly Christmas’ has been a thrill of its own, too, as they only finished it after the pandemic began. The recording has also been a challenge for Dolly as they have to record duet parts separately, because she may be at risk of getting infected in her golden ages. Dolly admired how her crew worked really smart in order to make the release of the album a success. The process may be hard, but she’s glad that it didn’t slow them down.
‘Holly Dolly Christmas’ has been in setback for three consecutive years, but finally, it is officially out for the public to enjoy!
