With the Christmas spirit ever heightening as the big day lies in wait just around the corner, people all around the globe prepare their mistletoes, those decorated trees, and those lights to really get the feel going. But as we anticipate Christmas, one of the things that we really shouldn’t miss is to listen to seasonal songs that acts as a portal to the past few holidays. The nostalgia and the memories can really pack a punch.

But this year’s Christmas is one that you’ll experience like the first time as we jingle along with Maddie and Tae’s first-ever Christmas Album EP, ‘We Need Christmas’ that’s set to spread joy starting October 23.

Not Your Typical Christmas Carol

The duo has eyes on making a Christmas album for quite a long time now, and to actually get to make one is a wish come true. They get to cover and recreate some of their favorite Christmas classics with newly composed songs produced by Jimmy Robbins and Derek Wells. To add a cherry on top, they wished that the people who will listen to their album can feel a little peace and joy in the midst of a difficult year.

The originals included in the album are ‘Merry Married Christmas’ and the title track ‘We Need Christmas’. Accompanying these are personal song covers of Maddie and Tae featuring the songs they loved such as ‘This Christmas’ by Donny Hathaway,  ‘Holly Jolly Christmas’ composed by Johnny Marks, the all-time Christmas carol ‘O Come All Ye Faithful’ and ‘Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)’ recorded by the trio Phil Spector, Jeff Barry, and Ellie Greenwich.

Early Shining Christmas

But as Christmas couldn’t come any sooner, for Maddie and Tae, it already is. On the day of their photoshoot for their album, they received a present which they initially thought was a prop. As they unwrap it, they discovered the greatest Christmas surprise an artist could ever have! It’s a Christmas wish come true for their previous work ‘Die From A Broken Heart’ as it became an official RIAA Platinum song that comes with personalized plaques.

Let us congratulate the achievements of Maddie and Tae by playing the songs they especially recorded for the holidays. ‘We Need Christmas’ EP will be released soon October 23 and early buyers could get a chance to browse the duo’s personal merchandise. The songs are already available for pre-order on several streaming platforms.
