The 2020 CMT Music Awards was a night of country music, and the brightest stars in the country music industry have definitely let everyone see their splendors.

With such a great night already in the books, it is just worth to give some kind of a look back on one of the greatest nights in country music this year. From the undeniable success that Dan + Shay had attained to the strong, hot words that Blake Shelton uttered that had all of those watching think of what he truly meant. Here are this year’s 2020 CMT Music Awards night top moments.

Dan+Shay

We never could disregard Dan +Shay when talking about the greatest country duo in history. If you still doubt their talent, let their 2020 CMT Music Awards win speak for itself.

Just weeks after their Billboard Music award win, Dan +Shay has another trophy to place on their shelves. On Wednesday, the country duo won the Duo Video of the Year Award for their single “I Should Probably Go To Bed.” The country duo showed their gratitude to the CMT management and to their fans for the continuous support that they had shown through the years.

Jennifer Nettles

This year, the very first 2020 CMT Music Awards’ ‘Equal Play Award’ was handed out to Jennifer Nettles. Nettles is known for her advocacy to push towards more air time for female voices to be heard on the radio. She definitely has made a mark in the industry and Nettles’s work is not in vain.

Carrie Underwood

With the commercial success that she had gained lately, Carrie Underwood continued to steamroll through the top of every award and charts lately. Last Wednesday’s ‘Female Video of the Year’ was again a testament to Underwood’s talent and to the great music that she has produced over the years.

Luke Bryan

The fun “One Margarita” single of Luke Bryan definitely had everyone miss the backyard parties and summer vacations we once usually have. After winning this year’s ‘Male Video of the Year’ Award, the country star thanked his wife Caroline, alongside Charles Kelley and his wife Cassie for the video’s success.

Bryan’s “One Margarita” music video was shot prior to health and safety protocols were imposed worldwide and for him, it was a great glimpse into what life we all used to have.

Chris Young

This year’s CMT ‘Performance of the Year Award’ was handed out to Chris Young. It could be remembered that Young offered a very emotional rendition of his song “Drowning” after Kane Brown’s drummer Kenny Dixon passed away who was Young’s close friend as well.

Old Dominion

Matt Ramsey Spoke about the award stating, “Super excited about this. This song has been so big for us, and this video was so amazing. We’re so proud of it, we’re so thankful for our whole team and to have each other to go through this with. Thank you fans, for supporting us and voting for us.”

The group also did not forget to thank the person behind the camera their video director Mason Allen.

Blake Shelton

Blake Shelton and his girlfriend Gwen Stefani bagged this year’s ‘Collaborative Video’ of their song “Nobody But You.” However, Blake’s tasty words caught most of our attention. Here are Shelton’s exact words and we’ll leave you hanging the same he left us all pondering about his words.

“I really do believe that these awards shows are beginning to lose credibility over the last few years, and fan-voted awards to me are really the only stand-up awards shows left in our industry it feels like sometimes. Because you guys are the ones who buy the records, you come to the shows, and you vote on all these things. We love y’all so much.”
