John Wayne’s quotes are as legendary as the man – who started out as an extra in movies and eventually became one of the most renowned western actors in history!

Nicknamed as the “The Duke,” the American actor and filmmaker was one of the top box office drawers for thirty remarkable years. He starred in nearly 200 movies and television productions – mostly westerns and action films. Of course, Wayne’s talent has been highly recognized, taking home many awards including an Oscar and Golden Globe Award for his role in the 1969 film True Grit
