Miranda Lambert finally returned to the center stage over the weekend, and it was an emotional one.
This is Lambert’s first live performance since the COVID-19 pandemic began last year. The country superstar stood in front of a socially distanced crowd to perform her hit song “The House That Built Me” – a song very dear to Lambert. Though it wasn’t originally written for her, she started crying the first time she heard it as it reminded her of her upbringing and how she got to this point in her career.
But what’s even more amusing is that the emotional moment happened on the famous honky-tonk Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth, Texas – where she often performed before she grew into an A-list artist that she is today. Undeniably, she was taken aback by the thought of singing such a special song in a venue that helped make her.
Lambert shared the experience on her TikTok account. The short clip shows the singer hugging her bandmates before she went on singing “The House That Built Me.” However, she was eventually overcome with emotion and started crying on stage. And the crowd came to the rescue – helping her out by singing most of the lines. Even though they were asked to remain in their seats for the show’s entire duration, they couldn’t help but stand and cheer for the singer.
When Lambert finally got into the song’s last line, she turned to her fellow country singer Gwen Sebastian who then handed her a towel to dry her tears. Lambert did her best to quickly recover and started joking around, saying she knew that would happen at some point in the night.
Miranda Lambert enjoyed a three-night, sold-out stint at Billy Bob’s Texas, and she’ll be coming back for additional shows this weekend. And we’re absolutely excited! So, we’re just going to play Miranda Lambert’s songs over and over again until her next performance.
@mirandalambert First show back. Love y’all ❤️
