Kane Brown and his Family Background

Kane Brown was born on the 21st of October, 1993 in Northwest Georgia, Chattanooga, Tennessee. He is a son to a white mother named Tabatha Brown and to an unknown African-American father. He was born during the Millennials Generation. According to an interview with Brown, his father was detained in 1996 when the singer was just 3 years old. Hence, he never felt the existence of his father in a home environment considering the man left him at such a young age.

Throughout his childhood, he lived with Tabatha in Redbank, Tennessee, where he became immersed in R&B music, particularly during middle school.

Professional Career

The success of Lauren Alaina, his schoolmate, on American Idol influenced Kane to endeavor some reality shows. Sadly, he was rejected in American Idol, and he quit the show X-Factor since they wanted him to form part of a boy band.

Following his reality television failure, Brown established his career through Facebook. He began posting cover songs by singers like Billy Currington and Randy Travis. He became an internet sensation in a blink of an eye with his version of Lee Brice’s I Don’t Dance.

Eventually, his covers accumulated millions of views. Inspired by the feedback, he posted a teaser of his single ‘Used to Love You Sober’ on his Facebook page. It garnered a total of 11 million views in just a matter of weeks. This popularity gave birth to many of Kane Brown’s songs.

In June 2015, he had his debut extended play titled Closer, then released his debut single Used to Love You Sober in October 2015. Driven by his first success, Kane signed with Sony/RCA Nashville at the beginning of 2016.

The year 2016 was a busy one for the singer. He had his second EP Chapter 1, in March, and another album in December, titled Kane Brown, as his first studio album. The album was a huge hit, peaked at #1 on the Top Country Albums in Dec.2016, and was certified Double Platinum by the RIAA. This achievement recognized him as a future star in the genre of country music.

In 2017, Brown became the first singer to lead all five Billboard charts simultaneously.

While on the topic of his record successes and awards, he took home Favorite Country Male Artist (2018-2020), Favorite Country Album (2018), and Favorite Country Song (2018) at the prestigious American Music Awards. Moreover, at the recent 2021 CMT Music Awards, he received Male Video of the Year and Collaborative Video of the Year awards.
