If you’ve been listening to country radio lately, you’ve without a doubt heard Brett Young songs that are catchy enough to ignore. Perhaps, they’re even still stuck in your head right now.

The California native has indeed quietly become a powerhouse in country music the moment he embraced his countryside in Nashville – landing his last six songs on the crest of the Billboard Country Airplay chart. And he’s not slowing down anytime soon, revealing another facet of himself each time.

Let’s take a look at some of Brett Young‘s greatest hits so far.

1. “In Case You Didn’t Know”

From: Brett Young (2017)

Young earned his first No. 1 hit with “In Case You Didn’t Know,” which he co-wrote with Nashville songsmiths during a songwriter’s retreat in Mexico.

Young revealed that the inspiration for the song came from one of his co-writers, Trent Tomlinson, who told them the story about something his mother always did growing up. Tomlinson said that each time he would leave the house, his mother would say to him, “Hey Trent, in case you didn’t know, I love you.” After hearing the story, they knew they had to write it into a song.

2. “Sleep Without You”

From: Brett Young (2017)

Released as the lead single from his debut self-titled album, “Sleep Without You” introduced Young to the country music scene, and it did well – reaching No. 3 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.

The song was so special that Young had the song’s title tattooed as a permanent remembrance for “the fact of fourteen years of really hard work and believing in something can actually work out if you stick with it,” he said.

3. “Here Tonight”

From: Ticket to L.A. (2018)

Young described “Here Tonight” as a song about the incredible moments in your life that you wish could last forever.

4. “Mercy”

From: Brett Young (2017)

The soulful ballad about a man pleading with his former lover to simply stay out of his sight turns out to be Young’s certified triple Platinum single and third No.1 in a row. “Mercy” also received positive reviews from various music critics, seeing Young as a potential superstar.

5. “Like I Loved You”

From: Brett Young (2017)

The third from Young’s self-titled debut album, “Like I Love You” finds the singer grieving over a former flame, thinking she never quite loved him as much as he did.

Hundreds of country fans relate to the song that it landed to the top spot of Billboard’s Country Airplay while peaking at No. 3 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.

6. “Ticket to L.A.”

From: Ticket to L.A. (2018)

Imagine meeting the love of your life in the most unconventional place possible – such as an airport terminal. Young gives a glimpse of that moment in “Ticket to L.A.,” which finds the singer deciding to miss his own flight just to spend a little more time with the girl.

7. “Catch”

From: Ticket to L.A. (2018)

Sometimes, love comes when you least expect it – and that’s what this song is all about. “Catch” finds Young distracted by the woman who walks into the bar while he’s hanging out with his friends.

8. “Lady”

From: Weekends Look a Little Different These Days (2021)

The tender ballad is Young’s seventh country radio chart-topper, but it’s the one that means the most to him. “Lady” sings about the singer’s love for his baby daughter Presley and his admiration for his wife, Taylor Mills Young.

9. “1, 2, 3 – Mississippi”

Young put a spin to counting Mississippi’s we grew up playing with in this song that recounts how he fell fast for a girl that he needed to slow himself down by counting “1, 2, 3 – Mississippi.”

10. “Chapters”

From: Ticket to L.A. (2018)

Young teamed up with his friend, singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw to write “Chapters,” which is exactly about Young’s life.

11. “Don’t Wanna Write This Song”

From: Ticket to L.A. (2018)

The somber ballad yet again brings Young in the position of having to pick up a relationship’s broken pieces, bringing his second studio album to a moving, cinematic close.

12. “Not Yet”

From: Weekends Look a Little Different These Days (2021)

The sexy ode finds Young in the middle of a passionate night with a new lover that he wished he could pause the moment for it to last forever.

13. “You Got Away With It”

From: Weekends Look a Little Different These Days (2021)

This upbeat love song is a cheerful tribute to the girl who stole his heart, featuring a sunnier energy than Young has pursued in a while.

14. “Weekends Look a Little Different These Days”

From: Weekends Look a Little Different These Days (2021)

The title track from his third studio album, the lively ballad is about his new life as a father. Young details how he transitioned from someone who stays up late and sleeps all day to a life filled with toys, clothes, and bottles scattered everywhere.

15. “You Ain’t Here To Kiss Me”

From: Brett Young (2017)

Young and Taylor may have been happily married right now, but did you know they once broke up before marrying each other in 2018? That split actually inspires this song.
