Whenever you think about A&E’s reality TV series Duck Dynasty, a few things absolutely come to mind – this could either be duck calls or their long hair and even longer beards. However, that impression no longer applies to one of the men. We know it’s hard to imagine Jase Robertson without a beard, but the guy’s gotta do what he’s gotta do.
Before Duck Dynasty premiered in March 2012, the men in the Robertson family – except for their eldest brother, Alan, who only joined the show in Season 4 – signed contracts stating they would never shave their beards.
But since the show ended after eleven seasons, people have been wondering which brother would be the first to do the honors – until Jase Robertson made such a drastic change that shook everyone.
Luckily, his impressive facial locks didn’t go to waste, and Jase actually did it for a great cause. The star teamed up with Mia Moo Fund, a foundation launched by his youngest child Mia to raise awareness and funds toward researching and treating cleft lip and palate.
Jase and his wife learned Mia has a cleft lip and palate before she was born. Her first surgery came at just three months of age, and several more followed throughout the years. Mia, who is now 17 years old, recently had her major surgery, and the family is hoping it will be her last.
So in 2017, Jase promised he would shave his face if they get to raise $100,000. Sadly, the family wasn’t able to meet their goal, and it was impressive for Jase to still go through with it.
Despite fans’ concern that the star will be losing his epic beard, Jase’s wife was pretty excited by her husband’s clean face. In fact, the entire family appears to be thrilled about his new look, too!
