Love, curiosity, and attraction between women are nothing new, and listening to a lesbian country singer sharing her own experiences with other women just hits on another level. So, we created a playlist of lesbian country songs written and sung by women about their feelings towards the same gender, and they’re guaranteed to satisfy your ears.

Check them out below!

1. “Loving Her” by Katie Pruitt

Pruitt’s “Loving Her” is a delightful, freeing anthem of love for her girlfriend, despite other people kicking up a fuss about their same-sex relationship. The singer was inspired to write the song after one frustrating conversation with her father, who struggled to accept Pruitt coming out as gay.

2. “Party of One” by Brandi Carlile

Carlile has been happily married to her wife, Catherine Shepherd, for nearly a decade now. But like most relationships, it wasn’t all wine and roses, and this is what this song is about!

“This is a song about deep and enduring compassion. It’s about trying to navigate domesticity, love, and particularly marriage,” the singer said about “Party of One.”

3. “Who Broke Whose Heart” by Brandy Clark

Meanwhile, Clark finds herself running through all the questions that would frustrate and haunt somebody after a failed relationship in this deeply moving reconciliation tune. The cheerful instrumental figures scurrying through add to the breeziness of the song’s postmortem of a relationship.

4. “Girl Next Door” by Brandy Clark

The hard-charging outburst that declares, “If you want the girl next door, then go next door,” is another primary paradigm of Clark’s terrific sense of humor and skillful wordplay while keeping every bit of the feisty country girl that won us over.

5. “All I Want Is To Be Your Girl” by Holly Miranda

Among the hallmarks of lesbian culture is longing, and this song captures that flawlessly. Miranda means business in this totally undeniable statement of romantic intent. It’s the kind of song that inspires you to love someone without any reservations.

6. “Constant Craving” by k.d. lang

Canadian country singer K.D. Lang stunned the world when she came out as gay in 1992. That same year, she released this hypnotizing, Grammy-winning single, “Constant Craving,” which has since become an unofficial anthem for queer longing and the pragmatic quest for truth and self-acceptance.

7. “You’re Still My Love” by Melissa Carper

New on the country music scene, Melissa Carper made her recording debut under her own name with the release of Daddy’s Country Gold, which we must say is a pure lesbian country gold. It includes “You’re Still My Love,” a stunning classic country tune with a timeless theme of caring for the one who’s gone.

8. “By Your Side” by Jaime Wyatt

Trust is the key to love and the glue that holds relationships together. Jaime Wyatt sings about that in “By Your Side” as she sums up everything anybody could ever wish for in a relationship.

9. “It’s Always Been You” by Katie Pruitt

The love song is dedicated to Katie Pruitt’s girlfriend, Dana, who redefined love for her. “I knew I hadn’t just found a girlfriend, I had found a best friend. Love did exist, but it was nothing like I expected because this time it was real,” she said.

10. “I Kissed a Girl” by Jill Sobule

Way before Katy Perry became the pop star that she is today, there was Jill Sobule, who released the song of the same name. It sings about society’s sexualization of sapphic relationships.
