LeAnn Rimes and husband Eddie Cibrian just celebrated their ten-year anniversary last April with a tropical getaway to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico. And the pair definitely enjoyed their time together, happier and even stronger.

But behind their strong relationship was a rocky road of controversies back when they were first dating. They were the headlines of tabloids after Us Weekly broke the news of their love affair in March 2009. Nevertheless, the couple stood strong in their love, and they grew as tough as the rocky road they walked through.

Let’s unfold every chapter of their love story and get to know more about LeAnn Rimes husband, Eddie Cibrian.

First Chapter: A Controversial Start

Grammy Award-winning country singer LeAnn Rimes met her now-husband Eddie Cibrian in 2009, but it was not the first time that she had actually fallen in love. Before Eddie, there was Dean.

Rimes first met Dean Sheremet in 2001 as he happened to work as one of her backup dancers for her performance at the Academy of Country Music Awards. In an interview with InStyle, Rimes confessed that she knew he was the guy she wanted to marry just after one date. And true to her words, she did. They tied the knot a year later, but a happy ending just wasn’t for them. In 2009, after seven years of marriage, Rimes and Sheremet separated.

And the truth behind their separation became clear after Us Weekly broke the news in March 2009 that Rimes was having an affair with actor Eddie Cibrian whom she met on the set of their TV movie Northern Lights. Cibrian was also married at the time to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville. There was a lot of media frenzy following the news, and Rimes and Cibrian became the headlines of many tabloids.

The couple initially denied the rumors, but after both of them filed their divorces, they confirmed and took responsibility for their actions. Rimes opened up to People in 2010 about the affair and acknowledged that she did one of the most selfish things she could ever possibly do and that she hated the fact that she hurt people. But she didn’t ever regret the outcome.

Who is LeAnn Rimes’ husband, Eddie Cibrian?

Edward Carl Cibrian, known for his stage name Eddie Cibrian was born on June 16, 1973, in Burbank, California to parents Carlos and Hortensia Cibrian, who were both of Cuban descent. His father Carlos, along with his family, fled Cuba in 1959 after Castro came to power while his mother’s family arrived in the US three years later. Carlos worked as a banker while Hortensia was an office manager. Eddie is their only child.

Cibrian attended UCLA, where he majored in business, then he ventured into acting and even sand in a soul-pop boy band 3Deep from 1998 until 2001. After his stint with 3Deep, Cibrian married his longtime girlfriend, Brandi Glanville. The pair had two children – Mason Edward (2003) and Jake Austin (2007).

To the public, he is best known as Cole Deschanel in the 1997 TV soap opera Sunset Beach. But these days, Cibrian is known for his dramatic roles procedurals, just like in CSI: Miami and Third Watch. Though he also started to take on comedic roles, including his new Netflix show Country Comfort, where he stars alongside Katharine McPhee as a widowed rancher and father of five who desperately needs a nanny.

Eddie Cibrian is now valued at $6 million.

Second Chapter: The Start of a New Year and Life

On Christmas Eve in 2010, Cibrian finally popped the question. So, the pair romantically celebrated their Christmas and New Year as an engaged couple. And finally, on April 22, 2011, LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian exchanged their vows in their private home in Los Angeles, California in front of 40 guests. And one of the many memorable moments during their wedding vows was when Eddie promised not only to stay by her side always but to also watch Love Actually with her every year.

But probably the best part about their wedding was that it was kept so tightly under wraps that their guests didn’t even know that it was THE day. According to E!, the guests believed they were only attending an engagement party.

Third Chapter: Sweetness Overload

Ever since getting married a decade ago, the spark and sweetness between the couple were never lost. They regularly share sweet Instagram posts on every occasion – wedding anniversaries, Valentine’s, and even National Kissing Day. Aside from that, the two also love to do seasonal traditions, just like their annual family photo with Santa.

LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian do not have any kids of their own, but Rimes definitely love being a stepmom to Cibrian’s two sons. In an interview with Us Weekly, Rimes shared how rewarding it was to see their growth and that they bring so much joy to her life. But Rimes isn’t ruling out just yet the idea of having her own children with Cibrian.

Though there were a lot of things that could have broken them apart, LeAnn Rimes and husband Eddie Cibrian stood together and made it work.
