There really is truth to the saying that music soothes the soul, so much that it can even heal the wounds which prescription cannot touch.
Take, for instance, this short clip that has captured the hearts of many internet users where one little boy named Reed Arnett put the healing power of music on full display. Reed can be seen singing in what seems like a hospital room with the nurses as his audience.
He put on a total performance belting out Oak Ridge Boys‘ signature hit, “Elvira.” The two nurses couldn’t help but enjoy such a lovely performance that they even began dancing along with Reed as he set out an amusing show for them.

According to one comment, which appeared to be by Reed’s teacher in first grade and was actually the one who took the video, the young talented performer was only four months cancer-free when the video was posted in 2017.

“True definition of a survivor and joy!” she wrote, adding that “Elvira” was the class’ favorite song.
The Performance Captured The Hearts of Oak Ridge Boys, Too
And what’s even more amazing is that Oak Ridge Boys themselves happened to come across Reed’s performance. The group then shared the short clip with their fans by posting it on their social media account. “This boy beat cancer,” they wrote. “God bless him!!!”
“Elvira” was originally recorded by Dallas Frazier in 1966 but became a bigger and much more popular country hit when Oak Ridge Boys released their version in 1981. It reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart while peaking at No. 5 on Billboard Hot 100. It is now considered one of the group’s signature songs.
