While the September 11, 2001 tragedy ended the dreams of many, it prompted Zac Brown to pursue what he loves the most – and that’s music. It brought him to realize that life’s too short doing something he does not enjoy. So, together with bassist John Hopkins and fiddler Jimmy De Martini, he formed Zac Brown Band in 2002.
He sold the music club and restaurant he and his father opened in the Lake Oconee area of Georgia, called Zac’s Place, to buy a tour bus and started touring full-time. That same year, the band managed to release their first independent album, Home Grown.

One Of The Sharpest Minds In Today’s Generation Of Artists
Born in 1978 in Atlanta, Georgia, Zac Brown is the eleventh among the twelve children raised by his mother, Bettye, and stepfather Dr. Jody Moses.
Brown started strumming his guitar at the age of eight and took two years of classical guitar lessons from one of his stepfather’s patients. As the years went by, Brown’s interest in music deepened. He started playing solo gigs in local venues during his high school years, performing country and pop cover songs.
But the pinnacle happened when he met some of the Zac Brown Band members during his college years – and eventually skyrocketed to phenomenal success.
Meanwhile, Brown is not limiting himself to being an impactful singer-songwriter. He is also a producer and record label head. In 2018, he announced the launch of his new entertainment and lifestyle branded parent company, Zac Brown Collective – further raising his creative and innovative pursuits to new heights.
Truly, there’s nothing quite like Zac Brown’s commitment and passion for music.
