He gave Waylon Jennings a big shout out by singing The Dukes Of Hazzard’s theme song, which was famously recorded by the outlaw country artist, who also served as the show’s narrator.
With the audience clapping and singing along to the tune’s lyrics, you can really tell fans were delighted by such a heartwarming performance. He then transitioned seamlessly into one of Johnny Cash’s most famous songs, “I Walk the Line” – and the crowd showered him with an uproar of applause.

Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash were two of the most influential people to Hank Williams, Jr., who helped him shape his career. He’s known them since he was just a little boy and has looked up to them ever since.
In fact, Johnny Cash’s wife was actually Hank Jr.’s godmother. Meanwhile, Hank Jr. and Jennings have a pretty tight friendship despite the age gap. This friendship even gave birth to one of the most epic collaborations in country music. In 1979, Hank Jr. and Jennings recorded “The Conversation” as a duet. It was a moderately successful hit, reaching No. 15 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.
