The lockdown due to the pandemic has separated many of us from our loved ones — in some instances, even our partners and spouses. Take, for instance, this man from Boston, Massachusetts!

Ed Oliver Bohld met the love of his life, Mary Lou, more than twenty-five years ago. However, Mary Lou was moved to an assisted living facility in 2015. Even so, this did not stop Bohld from showing his deep love for his longtime girlfriend as he revealed that he had visited her every day since.

Unfortunately, Massachusetts officials have imposed new rules limiting all non-essential visitors at hospitals and nursing homes – including assisted living facilities and other long-term care facilities – in the midst of the coronavirus outbreak. The state is only allowing families to visit loved ones in hospice and other end-of-life situations.

Despite the challenges, Bohld’s love for Mary Lou is as resilient as ever.

And He Even Went The Extra Mile

Ed Oliver Bohld continued to visit Mary Lou even though he was not allowed to be anywhere near her. But he got something better in mind!

He rode his bike to the Compass on the Bay Memory Support Assisted Living where Mary Lou – and he brought with him his guitar so he could sing to her through her window. Sadly, the living facility denied him to do so. They claimed that Bohld requested for Mary Lou’s window to be opened, which they can’t allow in order to abide by the state’s restrictions.

Still, Bohld persevered until the facility obliged. He serenaded her with “You Are My Sunshine” under the rain before tearfully telling her he loved and missed her. “I will see you soon. All of this will be over eventually,” he said.

Isn’t this the sweetest thing you’ll see today? You can watch the precious moment in the video below.
