Many fans know Lee Brice as the hit-making country singer-songwriter who has seen steady success in the genre since the release of his major label debut album in 2010. He has released songs that got country fans laughing and crying and delivered tracks with passion behind his distinct, powerful voice.

But we’re not going to talk about his songs today, we’re going to dig and get to know more about the artist with some exciting facts. Check them out.

1. He’s a native of Sumter, South Carolina.

Born Kenneth Mobley Brice, Jr. June 10, 1979, the country star fell in love with music at a very young age. He began singing at church and started playing piano when he was only seven. By the age of ten, Brice already began playing the guitar and even wrote his own songs, partly under the influence of his father’s favorite country groups, the Oak Ridge Boys and Alabama.

2. He went to Clemson University on a football scholarship.

Lee Brice, who stands six-foot and three, walked on to the Clemson University football team in 1998 and earned a scholarship as the long snapper. However, a freak injury that resulted in difficulty to straighten his right arm forced him to undergo a surgery and took him off the field for good.

3. He’s a father of three.

In 2013, Brice married his longtime girlfriend Sara Nanette Reeveley – and their love story is one for the books. If you want to know how he feels about his wife, you don’t have to look further than Lee Brice songs. His catalog captures their relationship and journey together. The couple is blessed with three children: Takoda Brice, Ryker Mobley Brice, and daughter Trulee Nanette Brice.

4. He wrote songs that have been a hit for other artists.

Before Brice got his own record deal, he was already making a name for himself as a hit songwriter. He has penned songs for several other artists, including Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean, and Kenny Chesney.

5. His younger brother is also a singer-songwriter.

His brother Lewis Brice became famous when he joined the first season of Country Music Television’s Can You Duet. Since then, he has released over fifteen songs.

6. He joined and won three different talent contests in high school.

The performing bug bit Brice in high school, where he won the school’s talent contest for three consecutive years.

Truly, Lee Brice is one talented man. It’s no surprise how quickly he has solidified his place in country music and proven his staying power.
