Alan Jackson has officially launched his much-anticipated comeback to the stage, embarking on his Last Call: One More For The Road Tour with straight sold-out shows.
This past weekend, the Country Music Hall of Famer kicked off the first two shows out of the sixteen-date tour at Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, Mississippi, and at Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tennessee.
He Brought His Iconic Song Catalog To Life
Of course, the audience has enjoyed a list of Alan Jackson songs from his over three decades career. Some of the fan-favorite hits Jackson performed during the concert are “Chattahoochee,” “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere,” and “Drive (For Daddy Gene).” It truly got the fans singing all night long!
The tour comes nearly a month after Jackson announced that he would no longer be part of the 2022 CMA Fest lineup. He was earlier slated to perform as part of the festival’s star-studded nightly performances at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium together with country superstars Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Kelsea Ballerini, Darius Rucker, and many more. His empty time slot has been filled by Brothers Osborne and Old Dominion.
While no reasons were provided for Jackson’s departure from the lineup, it’s likely he dropped out for health-related reasons. Last fall, the country star revealed his health diagnosis of Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT), a chronic hereditary neuropathy disorder that causes nerve deterioration. Jackson noted that his current condition has made it more and more challenging for him to perform.
“And now I’m having a little trouble balancing, even in front of the microphone, and so I just feel very uncomfortable,” he said.
Well, here’s to country star Alan Jackson – steadier, stronger, and better every day!
