A new mural paying tribute to Jason Aldean was recently seen in his hometown of Macon, Georgia. The wall it was painted on has the words “Macon Greatest” and features other hometown heroes such as Otis Redding.
According to social media posts, the hand-painted portrait of Aldean can be found on the side of a Dollar Store in the South Plaza Shopping Center. While the thought was great, it received hundreds of reactions on social media – all because it’s completely unflattering and a pretty bad depiction of the country star.
Jason Aldean Reacted To The Buzz About The Painting
On Thursday (July 21), Jason Aldean graced The Big D and Bubba Show with a phone interview and shared his reaction to the mural. He said he had seen the portrait popping up on social media. While he appreciates the artist’s gesture and does not want to offend anyone, the country star admits he was surprised with what he saw – which Big D and Bubba jokingly compared to a “parody photo” drawn by an artist at Disney’s country fair.
“But I’m like, gosh man! Is that how people see me?” asked Aldean.
The “Dirt Road Anthem” singer also admitted that he saw a comparison between the painting on the mural and the animated character Beavis of the adult television series Beavis and Butt-Head – and “it was pretty accurate,” Aldean laughingly said.
