Blake Shelton is bringing his iconic mullet back – and it’s a major throwback to the ’90s.

On Monday (August 15), the country superstar sent his long-time fans into a frenzy when he announced the release of his new song, “No Body.” The announcement came with a cover art where Shelton was seen donning his classic mullet.

“Had to bring back the mullet just for y’all… New song out this Friday,” he wrote in the caption.

Long-time fans quickly flocked to the comment section, sharing their excitement.

Walking Down the Memory Lane

Friday (August 19) marked the release of Blake Shelton‘s latest song, “No Body.” It comes with a music video where the country star pays homage to the ’90s – the time when he made his move to Nashville and chased after his dreams of becoming a country singer.

So, to bring the idea to life, Shelton decided to travel back in time. The short clip features a 90s-inspired bar, line dancing, and of course, his classic mullet and cowboy hat.

While wearing the hairstyle “felt completely natural” to Shelton, making the video reminds him why he let go of his mullet.

Shelton recounted filming in the non-air conditioned bar, where his hair kept sticking to his neck and the side of his face. He then realized this was the very reason he ended up cutting his mullet off. “Not because it wasn’t cool anymore or trendy, just because it was physically irritating,” the singer said.

Well, it’s been years since the “God’s Country” singer rocked his mullet, and we can’t imagine fans’ excitement as he wears that hairstyle again. Anyway, “No Body” is out now! You can watch its music video below and see Shelton’s mullet for yourself.
