The Louisiana native is being recognized in six categories. This includes Female Vocalist Of The Year and New Artist Of The Year. Her third and first full-length collection studio album, Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’ is also digging for Album of the Year.
This makes Lainey Wilson one of the only four artists in the history of the Country Music Association to score six nominations in her first year.
Wilson took to social media to tell everyone how “honored and proud” she is to be nominated. While she’s absolutely blown away and still trying to find the words to say, she expressed her gratitude to the entire country music community.
Here Are The Other Nominees You Should Watch Out
Following Lainey Wilson closely behind were Ashley McBryde, Carly Pearce, Chris Stapleton, and Shane McAnally – who all have nods in five categories. Stapleton is actually one of the contenders for the evening’s highly anticipated award, Entertainer of the Year. Other nominees are Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Morgan Wallen, and reigning Entertainer of the Year, Luke Combs.
Speaking of Lambert, the country superstar is making history for being the most-nominated female artist. She has received three nominations this year, racking up a total of 61 nominations throughout the years. This also makes her the third most-nominated artist, with country legends George Strait and Alan Jackson on top.
The 56th annual CMA Awards will air on Wednesday, November 9, live on ABC at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. It will be hosted by NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning and country superstar Luke Bryan.
We’re pretty sure you are all now excited to know who’s going to collect the most awards. Don’t worry, we’ll keep you posted.
