Do you know some John Schneider songs? If not, then here are some of his well-known hits:
5. I’ll Still Be Loving You (2019)
A beautifully poetic song written by the creative composer Andrew Dorff which also became his final one before passing away in December 2016. According to Schneider, after listening to the song, recording it just comes naturally. He further added that the song is an excellent combination of modern sound and intonation of the Carter Family in the chorus, making it so beautiful and haunting.
Schneider is proud to say that he can quickly determine a good material when he hears it. When he reached the chorus, he thought to himself that this is one of the best songs that he had ever recorded. The singer revealed that being a part of Dorff’s musical journey is truly an honor for him. Dorff’s father, well-known lyricist Steve Dorff, told Schneider that he hopes “I’ll Still Be Loving You” will conquer the music world since he deserves it.”
4. I’ve Been Around Enough To Know (1984)
This song is the first number 1 hit of John Schneider. It was composed by Bob McDill and Dickey Lee. When Schneider first heard the song, he immediately said this is it. One of the particular things that he loved about the song is its opening line, “…It won’t change anything anyhow.” Actually, this song was originally recorded by Jo-El Sonnier in 1975 under the label of Mercury Records. It was Sonnier’s debut single and ranked number 78 on the Hot Country Songs charts. In 1978, another version of “I’ve Been Around Enough to Know” was released, and this time it was recorded by Conway Twitty. Finally, in July 1984, country music artist John Schneider released his own version of the song, and it became his fourth country hit single.
3. Country Girls (1985)
“Country Girls” instantly became Schneider’s second number 1 hit single in April 1985, just two days before he celebrated his 25th birthday. This song is written by Eddie Setzer and Troy Seals. According to the singer, it was a classic song for him to do while on tour. He thought that it would be one of those emotional songs that could make the girls go crazy. Troy Seals specifically wrote Country Girls for John Schneider. Also, during this time, Seals has a hit song on the chart – “Seven Spanish Angels.” That is why the country singer felt so thrilled to have something from Troy. Schneider revealed that women still go crazy with this song when he performs it.
2. What’s A Memory Like You (Doing In A Love Like This) (1986)
In March 1986, this song from John Schneider became a number 1 hit. “What’s A Memory Like You (Doing In A Love Like This)” is a song composed by Charles Quillen and John Jarrard. Don Lanier, adorably known as “Dirt,” was the one who gave the song to Schneider. He told John that this was a great song; however, Steve Wariner put it on hold. So, John said that it would be better that he won’t hear it. But Dirt insisted and promised that he could get it away from Steve. Upon hearing the song, John immediately loved the first line of the lyrics, “You know you shouldn’t be here…” The country music artist believed that it was a great song. So, Dirt convinced Steve to release the song to Schneider. Together with Bowen, John recorded the song at Sound Stage, and it became the title track of his number 1 album. John revealed that as soon as he plays the first chord of the song, people will instantly recognize it.
