Great news to all country fans out there! Country superstar Kenny Chesney is going on tour in 2023 –back to his roots in the I Go Back Tour!

Just a few months after wrapping up his massive Here and Now 2022 Tour last August, the “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy” singer took to Instagram on Monday (November 28) that he’ll be venturing into a brand new tour, in which he will be hitting cities outside of big markets – as well as several ones he has never played since he rose to fame.

The 21-stop tour begins at State College, Pennsylvania, on March 25 and will include shows in Birmingham, Alabama; Jacksonville, Florida; Greenville, South Carolina; Fort Wayne, Indiana, among others, before things wrap up on July 22 in Des Moines, Iowa.

The Inspiration Behind I Go Back Tour

During a press release, Kenny Chesney told fans about the inspiration behind the I Go Back Tour. The country star said the idea came after thinking about how he could “recapture the magic” after the Here and Now Tour ended.

He thought to himself what would be something that would give No Shoes Nation another reason to believe. This led him to his 2004 hit single “I Go Back,” which was written about how music reminds you of the most important moments of your life.

So, rather than repeating what he has already done in the past, Chesney has decided to take his band and his songs to “a lot of the cities we played on our way up,” Chesney noted. “Let’s call the tour I Go Back – and do just that.”

As a result, the country star promises to perform hits from his catalog that “time stamp people’s lives” and ones that would serve as a hallmark for up-and-coming memories.

Joining Kenny Chesney on the road will be fellow Tennessee native Kelsea Ballerini. Truly, 2023 is going to be pretty interesting.
