For a very long time, many music fans have enjoyed country music. And numerous country music performers are sprouting out here and there. However, let’s take a stroll down memory lane and talk about Crystal Gayle, one of the most influential country musicians of the 1900s.

She is such a talented musician that she was given the chance to have her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was even admitted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry. She has produced many successful songs, including “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue” and “Ready for the Times to Get Better.”

On the other hand, Gayle is a fascinating person in addition to having a successful singing career. Here is a list of interesting and little-known facts about Crystal Gayle that you would definitely love.

1. She Didn’t Start Her Career as a Backup Singer

Contrary to popular belief, Crystal Gayle did not begin her professional singing career as one of her sister Loretta Lynn‘s backup singers. Her sister is also one of the most well-known country singers of their time. It appears that they are all musically talented by nature.

2. She First Learn How to Sing, Then Walk

It was sometimes said that she may have learned how to sing before she learned how to walk when she was young due to her love and unbelievable talent for music.

3. She Has Eighteen Number One

In the 1970s and 1980s, she had a total of 20 country songs that reached No. 1, with 18 of them reaching the top of the Billboard charts and the remaining two appearing on Cashbox.

4. She Is a Living Rapunzel

Due to her beautiful, silky hair, Crystal Gayle is also known as the Rapunzel of country music. According to reports, the inspiration for this came from a female with long hair she once saw in Nashville.

5. Her Stage Name is Named After a Burger Restaurant

It’s not every day that someone is named after a burger restaurant. Brenda Gail Webb is the real name of Crystal Gayle. Brenda Lee was already a known singer at that time, and Decca Records didn’t want there to be any confusion caused by the two Brendas. Her sister Loretta then had an idea and recommended the name Crystal after spotting a sign for Krystal hamburgers.

6. Receiving Awards Is a Common Thing for Her

Crystal Gayle’s hit songs were able to open doors for her. To the point that even Grammy, ACM, and CMA were able to recognize her. Her Grammy award, which she won back in 1978, is one of her most well-known accolades.

Crystal Gayle is one of the greatest country artists of all time. And there is no doubt about that since she has an angelic beauty and magnetic stage presence. We hope you gained new information about the lesser-known Crystal Gayle facts we presented today. Now you can definitely share them with others if you want to.
