Lee Greenwood demonstrated an interest in music-making at such an early age. He succeeded with passion and commitment, and today he is considered one of the most well-known country singers.

That said, given his lengthy career, the thorny love song titled I Don’t Mind the Thorns (If You’re the Rose) is just one of the many amazing Lee Greenwood hit songs that fans can enjoy.

The song, which Jan Buckingham and Linda Young co-wrote, was made available as the album Streamline’s debut single in July 1985. The song reached the top of the Canadian RPM Country Tracks and the US Hot Country Songs charts (Billboard). It is currently recognized as one of the most popular country love songs.

Meaning Behind the Song

Unconditional love is a fact. If you take the time to think about it and observe, some people still put everything on the line for those they love. They do so no matter how terrible it is, and that’s what this song is all about.
