Guess we can all agree that there’s nobody out there pushing the creativity of bluegrass music to the edges of human awareness quite like Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives as they led the top bluegrass albums for June 2023 with the album Altitude. It is Stuart’s first release in over six years, showcasing his ability to wander as he goes beyond what might be expected.

Meanwhile, Leftover Salmon’s Grass Roots made a nice entry as it reigns in the second spot. The album showcases a different side of the American jam band from Colorado as they reflect on their bluegrass and festival campground origins and pay tribute to their earliest influences with the grass’d up versions of tracks by Bob Dylan and Grateful Dead, among others.
