Country star Jason Aldean had no choice but to cut short his Saturday (July 15) concert in Hartford, Connecticut, after experiencing what was later revealed to be a heat stroke.

In a video captured by a concertgoer, Aldean can be seen performing “Crazy Town,” – an up-tempo country rock song that became his tenth consecutive Top 20 hit on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart in 2010, where it peaked at No. 2.

The crazy moment happened in the middle of his performance when he suddenly stepped back from the mic. He then buried his face into his arm, perhaps wiping his sweat away before returning to the mic. However, after a couple more seconds, he turned and ran off-stage.

Fans were puzzled about what made him abruptly leave the concert stage. However, some were already speculating that Aldean could be suffering from the heat.

Xfinity Theatre – the venue where he played – explained through a Twitter post that the country singer “has become ill” and could no longer finish the show. In another post, they shared that Aldean’s representative has confirmed that he has experienced heat stroke but is doing well.

The country star then turned to social media to update fans on his health. Jason Aldean explained that it was not actually quite as serious as heat stroke but is a combination of dehydration and heat exhaustion – yet still “pretty intense.”

Aldean also revealed that he had a couple of IVs, starting the night he came off-stage, and has since recuperated.

“Man, it was hot, I was playing golf all day yesterday and then got to the show,” the singer said.

Anyone who joined the show knows how hot it was, so Aldean went on thanking concertgoers. “Obviously, it’s not how I wanted the show to end,” he said. He then reaffirmed that the Connecticut show would definitely be rescheduled for a future date – which Xfinity Theatre announced to be on Sunday, July 30.

“All tickets from the July 15 show will be honored for the rescheduled July 30 date,” Xfinity Theatre wrote on Twitter.

On the brighter side, no other Aldean’s Highway Desperado tour dates have been affected. It was business as usual for the singer just 24 hours later as he took the stage in Saratoga Springs, New York, on July 16.

The Highway Desperado Tour kicked off in Bethel, New York, last July 14 and will extend through October, wrapping in Tampa, Florida, at the end of that month.
