Billy Ray Cyrus has found love again with fellow musician Firerose. The two seemingly confirmed their relationship in August 2022 and sparked engagement rumors a month later, which they eventually confirmed.

In October 2023, a little over a year after being engaged, the couple married in the “most perfect, ethereal celebration of love we could have ever imagined.”

Now, fans are asking who Firerose is. How did she meet the country icon? Well, fret not, as we’re about to give you everything we know about the songstress and break down their burgeoning romance. Keep on reading below to find out.

1. She grew up in a musical family.

Firerose was born and raised in Sydney, Australia, by her parents, who are symphony musicians. She fondly recalls her childhood when she would dance to Elvis Presley’s music, feeling deeply touched by its melodies. She also remembers listening to Shania Twain and thinking, “This is the meaning of life.”

2. She is a singer-songwriter.

Firerose found a “lifelong passion for songwriting” when she was young. In fact, she said she’s been writing songs as soon as she can speak. She would get home from school and write a song about her day, thinking that it was a normal thing to do. On her official website, the singer expressed how music has meant life to her, saying she has always believed that her purpose on earth was fulfilled by music.

3. She moved to Los Angeles to pursue a music career.

After graduating high school at the Newtown High School of the Performing Arts in Sydney, Firerose moved to Los Angeles because of a very “strong calling” in which she felt her fate was to be in America.

She then began recording her indie-pop gems and performing regularly at various live music venues, gaining an underground following of fervent fans asking to hear more of her infectious original music.

4. She is sober.

In May 2023, Firerose marked seven years of keeping a sober lifestyle through an Instagram post, encouraging anyone struggling with addiction to get out of it. “There’s always hope & freedom if you work for it. Don’t quit before the miracle,” she wrote.

Cyrus turned to the comment section to congratulate her. “So proud of you!!!!” he wrote.

5. Firerose is her legal name.

Firerose’s grandmother was actually the one who gave her the unique name when she was only a child. Since then, it has been how she has always identified, adding that it’s even now her legal name.

6. She met Billy Ray Cyrus on the Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana set.

Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose first crossed paths on the set of Hannah Montana, the American teen sitcom Cyrus starred in with his daughter, Miley Cyrus.

In an interview, Cyrus recounted the first time he met Firerose, saying that the instant she came out of the front door, he recognized that she was a star. Unfortunately, Firerose didn’t get into the part she had auditioned for that day, but Cyrus put her in touch with producers and other executives he knew. Since then, the two became friends.

7. She has musical collaborations with Billy Ray Cyrus.

In 2021, Cyrus and Firerose reconnected and collaborated on their first song, “New Day.” It was also when the two started sharing romantic feelings.

Well, looks like Billy Ray Cyrus has healed his achy, breaky heart – thanks to Firerose.
