Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd are ending their country music romance and, sadly, their marriage of five years.

The “GIRL” singer has filed in a Nashville, Tennessee, circuit court a dissolution of marriage from her singer-songwriter husband.

According to the divorce petition filed on October 2, Morris and Hurd are going through “irreconcilable differences in their marriage,” which lead to challenges in their shared life as a husband and wife. The petition also seeks the court’s recognition of the prenuptial agreement between the estranged couple, including awarding Morris her separate property.

Morris is also seeking joint custody of their son, three-year-old Hayes Andrew Hurd, whom the couple raised together in their Nashville home.

Meanwhile, a court document stated that a judge ordered a parenting seminar (generally required in divorce cases involving children). Morris and Hurd must complete the seminar within 60 days from the date the divorce petition was filed. Morris has already provided proof that she has successfully accomplished on October 14 a comprehensive parenting skills workshop lasting four hours.

The court document also revealed that Morris and Hurd had separated the day the divorce complaint was filed. Hurd has yet to file a response.

A Look Back On Maren Morris And Ryan Hurd’s Love Story

Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd first met in 2013 in a songwriting session where they co-wrote “Last Turn Home,” which Tim McGraw recorded for his thirteenth studio album, Sundown Heaven Town. Soon enough, the pair started spending more time together, and their friendship turned into something more.

In 2018, the couple wed in Nashville after three years of dating. In 2020, they became first-time parents when they welcomed their son, Hayes Andrew Hurd.

Throughout the years, Morris and Hurd have been creative collaborators – penning songs together for each other’s albums. Now, they are sadly the latest famous pair headed for divorce.

While neither Morris nor Hurd has publicly addressed their split, we wish them both strength, resilience, and the opportunity to find peace and happiness in the days ahead.
