Country star Reba McEntire is set to come back on network comedy after her iconic Primetime Emmy-nominated and People’s Choice winner TV sitcom Reba. And it’s an all-new comedy series titled Happy’s Place, premiering on NBC.

Fans were hoping for a revival of her 2001 show, which was abruptly canceled after six seasons. In an interview with the singer on The Bobby Bones Show in 2022, she said they were really working hard to do a reboot. She herself wanted to work again with the cast and crew, so she was really hoping that it would happen one day. Unfortunately, it didn’t pan out—for now. Nevertheless, her fans are going to be seeing her again on TV.

Happy’s Place tells the story of a woman named Bobbie who inherits her late father’s restaurant (a tavern named Happy’s Place, named after her late father). She must share it with a half-sister (to be played by Belissa Escobedo) she never knew existed until then, and she’s less than thrilled about it.

The family-oriented theme of the show made it a great watch post-Reba. Not to mention that Reba McEntire will also be sharing the screen with former castmate Melissa Peterson, who previously played Brock’s mistress Barbara Jean Hart in Reba. This time, she’s the bit needy and dramatic bartender who would’ve loved to be Bobbie’s sister.

Here’s the kicker: The singer will also be lending her voice for the theme song of the series! She did that for Reba: her country-pop inspiring single which she also released at the same time titled “I’m a Survivor.” But it was reworked to fit the show’s theme of surviving single motherhood.

In an exclusive interview with People, she said, “Oh, definitely. I’ll be singing the theme song. We’ve started working on it, and we’ll have it soon finished.” She then continued that if the network would give the green light, she would finish it up and have it ready for when they go to series.

Her boyfriend, Rex Linn, whom she has been dating since 2020, is also part of the show. She’s excited to work with a great ensemble of showrunners, producers, and writers. “It’s a great script,” she said.

Aside from being the main character of Happy’s Place, Reba McEntire is also the executive producer. Tune in with us as we await its premiere.
