Parker McCollum is making good on his promise to fans in Pennsylvania.

After falling sick mid-performance at his What Kinda Man tour stop in State College, McCollum had no choice but to cut the show short—something he says he’s never done before. But true to his word, he’s now rescheduled the concert for October 2nd, assuring fans that it’ll be a “whole new show” with different openers, new production, and a fresh setlist.

For those who had tickets to the original concert, they’ll still be honored for the new date, so there’s no need to scramble for another round of tickets.

As Taste of Country recounts, Parker McCollum was only a few songs into his performance at Bryce Jordan Center when fans noticed something was off. Fans in attendance noticed he wasn’t looking like himself. Before anyone could process what was happening, he suddenly left the stage. Moments later, the rest of the show was officially canceled.

The singer later took to social media to explain what happened, saying he had never walked off a stage mid-show. Turns out, he barely made it offstage before getting violently sick:

“Didn’t even make it to the bus—was in the bushes for about 10 minutes.”

Clearly, this wasn’t a case of just pushing through. He was down bad.

Despite being sick, McCollum refunded all tickets that night and promised fans he’d be back as soon as possible to make things right.

On Instagram, McCollum gave fans the long-awaited update:

“Hey guys, just a quick update. I wanna let you guys know, we have officially rescheduled the show that we had to end early this past weekend at State College, Penn State. The rescheduled date is October 2nd. It’ll be new openers, new production, whole new show.”

He reassured fans that it would still be valid for the October date if they had already purchased a ticket.

“If you would like to come to that show, your ticket that you already purchased will be honored for the new date… We’ll make it up to you guys.”

He ended the update by apologizing again, saying he’s getting back to 100% and ready to hit the road again.

Fans Appreciate His Effort

It’s never ideal when a show gets canceled—especially when fans travel far and spend good money on tickets, hotels, and travel. But judging by the fan response, most people understand that sometimes, things happen.

McCollum’s quick response, refunds, and now this rescheduled date prove he’s not taking the situation lightly. In a time when some artists have been criticized for last-minute cancellations with little explanation (looking at you, Morgan Wallen’s Oxford show), Parker is showing fans the right way to handle it.

So, for all those who missed out in Pennsylvania, October 2nd is your shot at seeing What Kinda Man McCollum really is—with an even bigger and better show than before.
