In the post, he talked about how after the venue operator on his Madison show paid him his guarantee, he was surprised to receive an additional $1,500. The operator said that it came from Willie Nelson through his On the Road Again program for traveling artists in partnership with Live Nation. The program rolls out extra support to each headliner and support acts on top of nightly performance compensation to ease the financial burden of touring and to make it easier for them to get to the next show.

And he was extremely grateful for his kindness. He penned, “tour is a grind and we’ve just reached the half way point. at this point we’re exhausted our bodies are sore our voices are shot and we’re not quite sure how we’re gonna get through it. seeing this little bit of kindness from some i truly love really blew me away. i could’ve cried. thanks willie. ur definitely an angel flying too close to the ground.”
MC Chris was profoundly moved by Willie Nelson’s generosity, finding inspiration and a renewed sense of humanity in the legendary musician’s kindness.
