Contemporary Christian artist Austin French touches the hearts of the people all over the world with his newest single “Why God.” This track is featured on his album Wide Open. Just like other people, Austin also endures hardships and struggles. I bet there are a lot of questions in our minds that are kept for a long time. In line with this is the song, “Why God” poses many of the unanswered questions that most believers ask.

Talking about the inspiration behind this song, a few questions came to Austin’s mind stating that,

“Why God do people have to die? Why does tragedy still have a place in the life of a Christian? Why another school shooting? God why? Are you even here? Are you with us? These are real questions that inspired my song ‘Why God’ on my upcoming record.”

Lyrics Breakdown

Why God, I need You
It’s, why God, I run to Your arms
Over and over again
It’s, why God, I cling to Your love
And hold on for dear life
And I find, You are right by my side

I believe that if God works, He will never disappoint us. God works in mysterious ways and sometimes we became clueless about it. We sometimes question Him about the things he is still working on without weighing if we really deserve it. Austin said,

“In those moments there’s tons of things in this life that we do not understand, but maybe we’re not supposed to. Maybe we’re supposed to need God, need a father who knows all things and holds all things in his hands. And that’s ok.”

Learn to let go of the things that you have no control of and let God handle it.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
