Michael Peterson has been working in the industry since 1997. He is from Tucson, Arizona, and as a kid, his musical interest was greatly influenced by his grandmother, who is said to be a fan of country singers like Cole Porter and Roger Miller.

When attending college at Pacific Lutheran University, he was said to be a classmate of Brad Westering, a producer for Deniece Williams. And due to the help of Westering, Peterson was able to write songs for Deniece Williams, which later on was able to help him land an opportunity to release his music album, ‘Michael Peterson,’ which is an album with gospel songs.

As a result, numerous chart-hitting Michael Peterson songs that various listeners have enjoyed were released through the years.

So, if you want to know which of his songs are the greatest, scroll down and find a song you can add to your playlist.

1. From Here to Eternity

“From Here to Eternity” was first made available in 1997 as a part of Michael Peterson‘s debut studio album of the same name. Robert Ellis Orrall was credited as a co-writer of the song. The song discusses religion, given Michael Peterson’s preference for gospel music. And because most people can identify with songs about those topics on a deep level, it immediately became popular, becoming Peterson’s lone number-one hit as of writing.

2. Drink, Swear, Steal & Lie

His debut album, which included this song, was also released in 1997. The song was likewise successful in reaching the charts, hitting number three on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles & Tracks, precisely like “From Here to Eternity.” “Drink, Swear, Steal & Lie” tells the story of a guy who told his father to stop drinking, swearing, stealing, and lying. But with time, he came to the joyous realization that he was also defying the rules himself. Michael Peterson and Paula Carpenter wrote the song.

3. Too Good to Be True

This is also one of Michael Peterson’s chart-hitting songs peaking at no. 8 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks and no. 5 on Canada Country Tracks (RPM). “Too Good to Be True” was released in 1998 as part of his debut album. Gene Pistilli co-wrote the song. It talks about a man letting a girl he thinks is ‘Too Good to Be True’ slip away from his hand.

4. By the Book

As you can probably already notice, most of Michael Peterson’s hit songs are from his debut album, which is fantastic. That said, this song was also released as part of his self-titled debut album in 1997. It peaked at no. 1 in the US Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles and no. 19 in the US Hot Country Songs (Billboard).

5. When the Bartender Cries

The song was co-written by Michael Peterson together with Hunter Davis. And unsurprisingly, the hit song is also part of his debut album. The song reached no. 37 on the US Hot Country Songs (Billboard) and no. 31 on the Canadian RPM Country Tracks.

6. Sure Feels Real Good

The song was able to hit the charts landing at no. 39 on the US Hot Country Songs and no. 38 on the Canadian RPM Country Tracks. It talks about a man who simply states how every action of the woman he adores ‘Sure Feels Real Good.”

9. Lesson in Goodbye

The song was released in 2002 as part of his album Modern Man. Bruce Robison, John Bettis & Monte Warden wrote it. It hit the charts landing at no. 58 on the US Hot Country Songs.
